I am not sure if it was a more of tip of the hat, a friendly nonverbal way to say hello, or just a peek under the hood to assess for functioning. Maybe a little bit of both. But I had a chance (30 degrees, no wind) to take a look inside my two hives.
I wore my veil. And my mittens, tucked into my parka.
They're alive!
Eating candy and high. With months until the first pollen is forageable. But still, alive.
