early snow

First snowfall.  An early one at that.  The kind that combined colorful leaves and wet sticky snow.  Delicate flower blossoms and ice.  Swarm traps still in trees and wood not yet stacked.  We weren't quite ready, and a few quick fixes need to happen as the snow began to fly.

Such a strange and unexpected blending of the seasons.

After running about outside to bring in wood and keep the chickens warm and such, we turned inside and had a quiet day of block and pillow fort building and games and art.

We may not have been quite ready for the early snow, but we certainly remember how to spend a cold and snowy day together.
